I’ve had my Outdoor Research Rocky Mountain Low Gaiters for 2-3 years now and they are still going strong. I use them mostly with my hiking shoes or in rainy weather with shoes and boots. They really help keeping debris out of my hiking shoes because of their low height. Now if I’m in some deep snow or cold temperatures in the dead of winter I may break out my Outdoor Research Rocky Mountain High Gaiters for more protection but they can be too hot otherwise.
I’ve seen some reviews from others who don’t care for them for one reason or another but so far they have worked quite well for me. And durability wise they seem to be holding up or else I wouldn’t bother mentioning them because I have no use for gear that doesn’t last. The nylon uppers on mine show a small amount of wear such as fraying and some scrapes. The straps also show some fraying and the buckles are scratched up as well which is to be expected since these parts are constantly underfoot.
