My Zelph’s Stoveworks Starlyte burner is probably my favorite alcohol burner and I have quite the selection of stoves at this point.  I guess I’m just a gear freak and if I see a stove I don’t have I want to add it to my arsenal.  I first heard of this from Andrew Skurka as part of his Cadillac Backpacking Stove System.  I knew that if he recommended it as part of his Cadillac system it must be a reliable piece of gear and more than worthy of my system.  I just swapped out the Trail Designs Caldera Sidewinder Ti-Tri with my simple Toaks Stove Frame and a small simple aluminum or carbon felt windscreen.  Only because I don’t own the Trail Designs system just yet but hopefully will in the near future because from what I’ve heard it’s a very efficient system.

One of the things I really like about this stove is that the craftsmanship is 100% solid.  I built and serviced custom machinery for many years so I have quite a bit of experience with engineering and machining and everything about this stove is quality.  The upper and lower halves fit together very well with no assembly or machining marks at all.  100% quality.

They also make a Starlyte Stove with integrated pot support but it lacks the cap to save unburned fuel.  However, it does include an integrated pot stand and that’s really cool.  I can’t wait to own it!

I really like the features of this awesome little stove that really put it a step above the rest.

I had a chance to use my Zelphs Starlyte Burner for the first time on a short trip on the Appalachian Trail from Allen Gap to Hot Springs, North Carolina.  It was a 3 day/2night hike and the stove performed flawlessly!  It did everything I needed it to when I used it in conjunction with my Toaks Stove Frame and carbon windscreen.  I couldn’t be happier.
